Frequently Asked Questions

To join the Eco Internships, you will need to be a minimmum level of Padi Advanced Open Water (or equivalent). If you are not yet a diver, please look at our “Learn to dive” options

Depending on what we are currently working on will be what your main focus will be. On a weekly basis we are usually building additions to our own in-house artificial reef, conducting Project Aware Coralwatch surveys on selected sites, transplanting corals on our nursery. Your internship will be a variety of these. Our project page has more details of ongoing tasks.

While it would be helpful to have a background in Marine Biology, it is not necessary. We can educate you on the work we do, or you can upgrade your internship to include additional certified courses, such as CoralWatch, Reef Check or Marine Resource Management.

You will be assisting us 5 days per week, which will leave 2 days per week to either explore the island, fun dive, or just relax and soak up the Koh Tao life.

A lot of people do! Whether you want to train further to become a dive professional or write a thesis, all of this is possible.
